A rare cloth used by Armorers to upgrade attire and armor.
Earned by completing Tales of Tsushima with your allies.
― In-game description
Silk is a rare cloth resource in Ghost of Tsushima that is acquired by completing side quests related to Jin Sakai's allies, namely those involving Sensei Ishikawa, Masako Adachi, Norio, and Yuna. In addition, it can be purchased from certain Trappers in exchange for supplies.
Silk is used at any Armorer to upgrade armor to its maximum level. Along with leather, silk cannot be sold to Trappers in exchange for supplies.
In New Game+, a large surplus of silk can be purchased from Baku the Voiceless in exchange for Ghost flowers.
Locations[]
One unit of silk may be purchased for 300 supplies at the following Trapper locations:
Toyotama[]
- Akashima Village
- Castle Kaneda (only during "A New Horizon")
- Umugi Cove
Kamiagata[]
Iki[]
Trivia[]
- In Yagata Forest during "Whispers in the Woods," the camp where the bandits are located contains one collectible unit of silk, along with some leather. This is the only time silk can be obtained in the open world. After Jin dispatches the bandits, he can collect the silk and leather. The player can then restart from the previous checkpoint and both the silk and leather will respawn, but Jin's inventory remains unchanged. The player can collect both cloths again and restart from the previous checkpoint with the same results. Repeating this grants a large supply of silk and leather that can be used to fully upgrade armors early on.
