Port Izumi is a port town in northern Tsushima. Following the Siege of Castle Shimura, the Mongol invaders under Khotun Khan made Port Izumi their base and assembled their fleet there. Port Izumi was freed by the Japanese forces at the Battle of Port Izumi.
Once a lively trading port and a harbor filled with ships, Port Izumi has now been overrun by the Mongol army. The destruction seen here is typical of the burning buildings and the signs of battle seen across Tsushima in general as the Mongols took over certain villages.
