Hats are vanity items Jin Sakai can equip under the Helmet portion of the Gear menu. They are purely cosmetic and grant no additional bonuses. There are a total of 31 hats in Ghost of Tsushima.
Hats are acquired in a number of ways: completing Tales and shrines, upgrading armor, purchasing from Merchants, or collecting in the open world through Exploration. Although the locations of hats will not appear in the map, the Guiding Wind and Golden Songbird can navigate Jin to vanity gear, which also includes helmets, headbands, masks, and Sword Kits.
