The Adachi Estate was the home of Clan Adachi on Tsushima. It was the site of the Adachi massacre.

On the night men of Clan Adachi rode to fight in the The Battle of Komoda Beach, a group of assassins attacked the Estate. While Lady Hana escaped with the children, Masako Adachi stayed behind with the other mothers to fend off the attackers. However, they were outnumbered and Masako was the only survivor of the attack, barely managing to escape on horseback.

The Tale of Lady Masako[]

Jin Sakai visits the Adachi Estate in his attempt to contact Lady Masako in the hopes she would help free his Uncle from Castle Kaneda. After investigating the grounds of the abandoned estate, Jin begins to piece together evidence of the Massacre and is promptly ambushed by three men. After disposing of his opponents, Jin discovers the men were not Mongols nor Bandits, and continues his search by investigating the stables, where he discovers that someone managed to escape the Estate on horseback.

The Husband[]

After tracking down the headman Sadao, a suspect in the Adachi Massacre Lady Masako brings back Sadao's wife Hina to the Estate for questioning. Jin questions Hina after Masako fails to gain any information as Hina bursts into tears every time she is asked a question. Jin and Masako take a walk to discuss their plans with Sadao, and Masako laments her family's death. Whilst Jin plays a melody on his flute to console Masako, Hina is murdered. It is revealed that Masako intended for Sadao to follow Hina back to the estate so she could have her revenge, however it is revealed that Hina's killer is Hachi, Sadao's brother.

Trivia[]

  • After the death of her family, Masako no longer considers the Adachi Estate her home, only the place her family was slaughtered.
  • Masako's grandchildren would make songs with her on the edge of the estate, to celebrate the changing of the seasons.
    • This alludes to Jin's flute, which has the power to change the weather to clear, fog, Thunder and rain. This is demonstrated when Jin plays the flute for Masako, changing the weather to clear.
  • The women of Clan Adachi fought with Naginatas when fending off the assassins, whilst Lady Masako fought with a katana.
